A MAN has been jailed for 31 months in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in drug supply across the South of the county.

Connor Fisher, 24 of Grovewood Avenue, Leigh appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, October 20 where he was sentenced after pleading guilty to drug supply offences.

Officers from Basildon Local Policing Team were on patrol on March 5 in Billericay when they stopped a suspicious car. Due to the strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle, Fisher was searched and officers found £600 cash, cannabis and a bag of white powder.

Fisher refused to show officers his recent messages. He was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Whilst in custody, Fisher was found to be concealing a large quantity of cocaine, ketamine and cannabis edibles.

During further enquiries at his address in Leigh, officers located items indicating he had been concerned with drug supply including weighing scales, small bags and drug paraphernalia.

Fisher refused to answer the majority of questions when being interviewed and wouldn’t provide investigating officers with his phone password. Despite this, his phone was unlocked and held many messages indicating that Fisher had been supplying drugs across Basildon and Southend.

He was subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a controlled class B drug and possession of Class A drugs.

He pleaded guilty and appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, 20 October, where he was sentenced to 31 months in prison.

Investigating officer, PC Thomas Windeatt said “Fisher did everything possible to conceal his illegal activity and prevent officers from gathering evidence.

“Despite this, he was quickly charged and held accountable. This sentence has taken another drug dealer off the streets of Essex and prevented drugs from getting in the hands of vulnerable people.”
