Drug Dealers Sentenced - A PAIR of drug dealers have been sentenced for their roles in supply in cocaine and cannabis in Essex.

A PAIR of drug dealers have been sentenced for their roles in supply in cocaine and cannabis in Essex.

Elliot Reddington and Joe Mongan were identified as suspects in a drug supply operation in the south of Essex in 2025.

A police statement said: “Through an extensive investigation we established the pair were trying to launder their money and hide their tracks, attempting to distance themselves from the Class A and Class B drugs they were selling.

“In early-morning warrants in February 2026 they were arrested at an address in Westcliff, where officers also found large volumes of cocaine and cannabis already split up into smaller quantities, several knives, a handgun with ammunition, multiple mobile phones connected to drug dealing and thousands of pounds in cash.

“Both of them pleaded guilty to all their charges before trial at Basildon Crown Court and were sentenced on Monday 5 October.

“Reddington, 36, of Ashingdon Road in Rochford, was sentenced to nine years and nine months for being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession of a prohibited firearm and without a certificate, possession of ammunition without a certificate, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possessing criminal property and money laundering.

“Mongan, 27, of Fairfax Drive in Westcliff, was sentenced to a total of eight years and eight months in prison for being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession of a prohibited firearm and without a certificate, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possessing criminal property.”

Speaking after the trial, Detective Inspector Yoni Adler of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit said: “Reddington and Mongan were prepared to use deadly weapons if challenged over their crimes.

“It was crucial we stopped them as quickly as possible to keep the public safe from their behaviour and from the illegal drugs they were bringing into our county.

“Drug dealers like this profit of the misery they cause to others, which is why we are working tirelessly to disrupt these enterprises.

“Our work as Essex Police doesn’t stop at sentencing – a timetable has been set in the courts to establish the value of their offending, and what can be confiscated from them under the Proceeds of Crime Act.”
