easyJet Job Drive

BUDGET airline easyJet are launching a recruitment drive, following the announcement of new routes from Southend Airport.

 The airline has recently launched three new routes, to Reus and Almeria in Spain, and the Mediterranean island of Malta, with flights starting in March 2025.

 Alongside this announcement, easyJet has begun advertising for new cabin crew staff to be based at Southend Airport next year, as well as a direct entry cabin crew manager.

 This comes after easyJet announced it would re-open its base at the airport, also in March next year, following its closure during the Covid pandemic.

 EasyJet first started operating there in 2012.

 The new announcements bring the number of easyJet destinations up to 17. alongside eventually creating 130 new jobs at the airport.

 Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be putting ten new routes on sale from our new base at London Southend Airport, which we look forward to opening next spring.

 “Our continued growth and investment in the UK highlight the importance of this market and provides UK consumers with even more choice, with our customers choosing our flights and holidays for our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares.”
