WESTCLIFF library is set be the command centre of MP David Burton-Sampson’s first impact day.
On Friday June 19 the MP for Southend West & Leigh will kick off his ‘We love Westcliff’ campaign with a council led community initiative.
Council Officers will set up a gazebo outside Westcliff library to engage with residents and provide information on any of their concerns and suggestions.
Specialised council officers, who can help with everything from waste to highways will be on hand to offer advice and teams of officers will patrol the area looking for hotpots and speaking to local people.
Mr Burton-Sampson said: “This is the first of what I am sure will be many special initiatives to put Westcliff on the map.
“I’m thrilled that we will be addressing the needs of people in the area and residents will have the opportunity to tell us about what they need.”
The gazebo will be the co-ordination hub for the multi-agency initiative bringing together council departments to resolve issues on the day. Residents’ groups will also be on hand to help and provide help and advice.
Mr Burton-Sampson added: “The Emphasis is on the “Spirit of Westcliff” and the importance of unity across communities. We recognise that Westcliff is a diverse area and its diversity is a strength.”
The key areas to be covered on the day will be London Road, Hamlet Court Road and the wider Westcliff area up to Chalkwell Park. Full plans will be finalised by the end of the month.
