Fundraising Initiative

A FUNDRAISER whose parents live in Leigh has just launched a new fundraising platform dedicated to raising awareness and funds for all charities throughout the UK.

Lisa Connell is a fundraiser and mother with an inoperable, but currently stable brain tumour.

As the creator of ‘Rent A Date For Charity’ which raised approximately £50,000 for brain tumour charities and causes back in 2010, she has now developed ‘Influential Stars’, which will organises prize draws for people to win meet and greet experiences with their favourite influential personalities.

A spokesperson for Influential Stars said: “Undeterred by the challenges she faced years ago, Lisa is back on her personal mission to raise awareness and funds for brain tumour charities.

“However, this time she’s aiming to make an even greater impact.”

They added: “In the midst of the cost-of-living crisis, charities are struggling more than ever to generate funds for their causes.

“Teams are having to compromise on creativity to remain cost effective in their fundraising efforts, resulting in a lack of originality – bake sales and marathons are becoming common place for all and supporters are less able to donate. That is, until now.”

Activities with Influential Stars include everything from tandem skydives, swimming with sharks, or driving a supercar to afternoon tea, spa experiences and cooking masterclasses.

To take part as an influencer, you need to be living in the UK and have 5,000 or more followers on any of your active social media accounts, and have a charity in mind you want to raise awareness and funds for.
