Future Pool Upgrade

A SOUTH Essex MP discussed options for a swimming pool upgrade, when he met with a Head of School in his constituency.
Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, held the discussion with the Head of School, Mr John Edwards, on a recent visit to Sweyne Park School, Rayleigh.
The popular secondary school has a swimming pool, which it also lets out for community use, but whose ancillary equipment and changing facilities are now looking rather ‘long in the tooth.’
Commenting on his recent visit, Mr Francois said: “It was a pleasure to meet with the Head of School, Mr John Edwards, on my recent visit.
“Amongst other things, we discussed options for refurbishing the school’s swimming pool, which is also widely used by community swimming clubs, but which needs some TLC if it is to reliably keep serving local people, in and around Rayleigh, for years to come.
“We will be meeting about this again in the early autumn and hopefully will have more to say about the options, then.”
