Gold For Skater - LEIGH based ice skater Lulu Alexandra has returned from Berlin having successfully defended her Artistic Figure Skating title in the Gold Women’s category.

LEIGH based ice skater Lulu Alexandra has returned from Berlin having successfully defended her Artistic Figure Skating title in the Gold Women’s category.

Ms Alexandra, who trains at Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre in Chelmsford and is trained by her long time coach Victor Teslia was delighted to come away with the gold medal in a very close competition, with just 0.01 points separating her from the 2nd placed Swedish skater.

This competition opens up a late start to Ms Alexandra’s season, having undergone foot surgery in the summer.

A sports ambassador for Chelmsford City Sports, Ms Alexandra said: “I’d like to thank Riverside and the ambassador scheme for supporting me in my training and recovery, which helps enable me to continue competing internationally, and show that competitive sport isn’t just for the younger generation.

“I’m proud to still be competing in my forties!”
