REGISTRATION is open for Gold Geese Goslings, Gold Geese’s first children’s seafront fundraising event which takes place on Saturday July 21.
Children aged up to 16 are invited to scoot, cycle or walk the course, which will start from Joscelyne’s Beach by Chalkwell Station. There are two distances depending on participants’ ages. The younger children’s course covers one mile, while those over 11 years old will cover two miles.
Gold Geese provides tailored support for families fighting childhood cancer in South East Essex, offering mental health therapy, treats, respite trips, help with hospital transport and food bills, and bereavement support.
Each child will receive a goody bag, Gold Geese T-shirt and medal. There is no entrance fee, but the charity asks families to fundraise as much as possible to cover costs.
To register visit: goldgeese.org/join-our-gold-geese-goslings.
The event will be accessible, participant numbers are limited and an adult must remain with their child throughout.
Katie Southgate, Gold Geese founder and CEO, said: “This is our first seafront fundraiser and we hope to have lots of Goslings join us on the day, have fun and show their support for local children fighting cancer.
“Around 1,900 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it causes a huge upheaval for everyone in the family – emotionally, physically and often financially, and Gold Geese is there every step of the way for local families affected.”
The charity is also asking for volunteers to help on the day. Please contact Kathryn at [email protected] if you are able to help.
