Gold Geese Golf Day

A FUNDRAISING golf day has raised £6,000 to support families is affected by childhood cancer in South Essex.
Southend funeral directors S. Stibbard and Sons organised the event after naming Gold Geese as its Charity of the Year for 2026.
More than 50 golfers joined in the sporting atmosphere at Rayleigh Golf Club, enjoying games and community, despite the testing temperatures of the heat wave.
The money will help the Leigh based charity Gold Geese continue providing practical and emotional support to children and young people with cancer in their families.
Managing Director, Martin Stibbard, said: “We were incredibly proud to support Gold Geese through our charity golf day, raising more than £6,000 for this wonderful organisation.
“It was a fantastic day filled with smiles, generosity and a real sense of community, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who took part, donated or helped make the event such a success.”
He added: “Gold Geese was chosen as our Charity of the Year because its work has personally touched the lives of some of our staff. We have seen first-hand the vital difference the charity makes by supporting local children and young people affected by childhood cancer, as well as their families during incredibly difficult times.
“Their compassion, dedication and practical support are invaluable, and we are honoured to help them continue this important work.”
A spokesperson for Gold Geese said: “A huge thank you to Southend Funeral Directors S. Stibbard and Sons who chose Gold Geese as their 2026 Charity of the Year and earlier this month held a golf day fundraiser.
“We’re a tiny charity but the difference we make is big, and we wouldn’t be here without the generosity and commitment of our supporters.
