ROCHFORD Hundred Golf Club has donated over £6,000 to a local charity, whose motto is “keeping young hearts healthy.”

The golf club chose the Carli Lansley Foundation as their “Charity of the Year” for 2023-24, under the auspices of the Ladies Captain, Jean Abbott.

The foundation was started by Karl Lansley and his children Jess and Ethan, in memory of Carli, their beloved wife and mother, who died aged 36 in her sleep from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.

The charity now hosts heart screening days across South Essex as well as CPR and defibrillator training sessions.

This recognition from the golf club led to a series of fundraising events and activities throughout the year, culminating in an impressive fundraising total of £6,015.40.

This substantial amount is set to make a significant impact, as it is enough to secure another screening day for the charity in 2025.

Mr Lansley said: “We were absolutely honoured to be chosen as the “Charity of the Year” for 2023-24 by Rochford Golf Club’s Ladies Captain, Jean Abbott

Over the course of the year, an amazing £6,015.40 was raised for us and this is now enough to secure us another screening day for 2025.

“We cannot thank Jean, all the ladies and everyone at the golf club for all their support

Jess, Ethan and myself visited the golf club to collect the cheque and thank everyone.”
