A BRAWL in a park has left a man with serious injuries after a weekend of trouble and violence in Hadleigh and Thundersley.
A fight involving a large group of men in John Burrows Recreation Ground, in Rectory Road, Hadleigh, took place at 12.15am on Sunday, October 15.
This incident left the victim in hospital and a man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Across the weekend there was also a fight in Kingsley Lane, Thundersley, which is being investigated by police, while a series of car windows were smashed in London Road, Hadleigh.
The man arrested on suspicion of being involved in the recreation ground fight has been released on bail.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We responded to reports of a disturbance at John Burrows Recreation Ground, in Rectory Road, Hadleigh, shortly after 12.15am on Sunday, October 15.
“A man was found to have suffered a serious, but non-life threatening, injury.
“Officers arrested a 36-year-old man, from Canvey, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on bail while our investigation continues.”
