A COMMUNITY initiative is aiming to foreground the regeneration of one of Southend’s grandest and oldest roads.
“Hamlet Court Calling” is a new initiative developed by the traders of Southend’s “bond Street,” who are set on the road’s continued diversity and renewal.
Aims including smartening up the street and spotlighting all the street’s independent hidden gems and businesses.
Andy Atkinson from the task force said: “The road has a remarkable history, and identity, but we are looking for new ways that all the community can help the renewal of the area.
“There’s a new and exciting energy transforming the area, with new businesses joining those that have been here for generations.”
The initiative had a stall at the recent Hamler Court Road in Harmony festival held over the May bank holiday.
Mr Atkinson added: “Thanks to everyone who called into our Hamlet Court Calling stand at the buzzing ‘In Harmony’ festival on Sunday.
“It’s brilliant to have your support for our renewal and regeneration campaign.
