THE Green Party’s Leigh Ward candidate in the local elections, Richard Longstaff,  has made local history by becoming the first ever Green Party Councillor elected to serve on Southend City Council.

THE Green Party’s Leigh Ward candidate in the local elections, Richard Longstaff,  has made local history by becoming the first ever Green Party Councillor elected to serve on Southend City Council.

Coun Longstaff won with 1,042 votes.

Commenting on his Facebook page, Coun Longstaff said: “Leigh-on-Sea – today we made history – Thank you for putting your trust in me .”
