ROCHFORD District Litter Picks team has been active in Hawkwell, tirelessly working to clear up both Hockley and Hawkwell areas.

The volunteers encountered a substantial amount of litter, including bags of tarpaulin that had been thoughtlessly dumped in the ditch at White Hart Green.

During their litter pick journey from Hockley through to Hawkwell Village shopping parade, they stumbled upon a toy man and a Princess amidst the litter.

They also cleared up Hockley station.

Near Clements Gate and the play area, the team cleared a couple of bags and a large gas canister.

Furthermore, they extended their clean-up efforts to Ashingdon and the swing park by Clements Hall.

The camaraderie and shared purpose of litter picking were highlighted with a humorous touch, stating: “Litter Picking is an amazing dating agency.”

A well-deserved commendation was offered to all participants for their efforts, and it was announced that the next meeting would take place at Hockley library car park, with everyone welcome to join.
