DEDICATED volunteers joined forces to clear detritus from the streets of Hockley.
The band of local people cleared from the High Road to the station, collection many unusual items along the way, including pumps, beer glasses, vapes, a supermarket trolley and a TV stand.
A spokesperson said: “It’s great to see the return of happy faces out litter picking. Lovely weather, people chatting to us and thanking us for volunteering in Hockley to keep the town clean.
“We collected over 20 sacks of rubbish and recycling collected.
“We covered Main Road, Southend Road, Brampton Road, Betts Farm, Hockley Library, Greensward Lane, Co Op Car Park, Hockley Train Station, Hawkwell Road, Broadlands area and then walking through the village.
“Unusual items included a pair of pumps, car rubber mat, beer glasses, vapes, TV stand, a supermarket basket.
“Well done everyone.”
