Honour Leigh At War – LETTER from: Sheila Bradley and Steve Hackett, Churchwardens, St. Clement's Church, Leigh.

LETTER from: Sheila Bradley and Steve Hackett, Churchwardens, St. Clement’s Church, Leigh.

The 2024 service to honour Leigh at war will be on Saturday 1st June at 12noon.

This marks 80 years since that miraculous moment in history, the saving of so many servicemen from the beaches of northern France, made possible by the bravery of the crews of the ‘little ships’.

The sad loss of four of our local fishermen, Frank Osborne, Harry Osborne, Harry Noakes and Harold Graham Porter, on board the Renown is testament to this.

The grandniece of one of these brave souls will read a poem at the service.

If you wish to join us please let us know, so that we can make sure there is sufficient seating.  We do hope that you will be able to join us, in person or at home or work in prayer on this important annual anniversary.
