A HORTICULTURAL project owned by a disability charity held an open day in Rochford.

The Hamelin Trust held the event at Roots & Shoots in Sutton Bridge Farm on June 28.

The day saw members of the public visit the green site, which supports young people with disability and autism.

The Hamelin Trust said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to our Roots and Shoots Open Day.

“Members of the Rochford Community, Rochford Parish Council and voluntary sector partners got to tour our site, to learn about the training we offer to people with learning disabilities and autism and take some of the produce home that our gardeners have lovingly grown.

“Everyone got the chance to learn and try their hand at accessible games including quoits and cornhole; games that were generously funded by Active Essex.

“It was great to see Glenwood School and Columbus School and College on the day too!”
