Hospice Half Marathon - A LOCAL hospice charity is bringing back its popular half marathon event this summer.

A LOCAL hospice charity is bringing back its popular half marathon event this summer.

The Havens Hospice to Hospice Half Marathon is back for 2025, scheduled for 9 am on June 8th, starting at East Beach Shoeburyness.

The charity is calling out for avid and new runners alike to join them and fundraise in support of its specialist care, as a Havens spokesperson explained: “What makes this half marathon truly special is the impact each mile has on the families Havens Hospices cares for.

“With every step, you contribute to ‘Making every day count’ for people of all ages who are living with incurable conditions and their families.”

Entry for a Runner Affiliated is £34, Runner Non-Affiliated £36 and Wheelchair Athletes are £36

Your entry fee covers the costs of running the event and this year Havens are asking participants to become a “Havens Hero” and purchase the Havens Hero entry tickets, which includes the cost of providing half an hour of essential care at the hospice, making a real difference for someone in need.

The spokesperson added: “Whether you’re a seasoned runner, just breaking into the world of half marathons or lacing up your shoes in memory of a loved one, this is the perfect half marathon for you.

“Last year was a sell out, so sign up early to ensure you’ve guaranteed your entry for 2025.

“So, lace up and sign up for a cause that truly matters. The Southend Half Marathon – where your run counts, and every step supports local hospice care.”
