LADY McAdden Breast Cancer Trust has announced that its headquarters on Elmsleigh Drive, Leigh is undergoing refurbishment.
In an example of community spirit, local business Highview Group will complete the significant upgrade to the centre’s ground floor entirely free of charge, providing all labour and materials.
The transformation includes crucial structural updates and interior improvements, creating a modern, welcoming space for those accessing the charity’s vital breast health services. Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust offers education, early detection support, and ongoing care for those affected by breast cancer — services that are more essential than ever.
Esther Taylor, CEO at Lady McAdden said: “Providing a safe, modern, and welcoming environment is essential for the people we support.
“We’re truly overwhelmed by the generosity of Highview Group. Their kindness is enabling us to transform our space in preparation for the launch of our new McAdden Sanctuary Programme. Once the refurbishment is complete, the programme will offer dedicated support to those diagnosed with breast cancer — from counselling and bra fitting, to reflexology, information sessions, and so much more.
“Our aim is to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone.”
Highview Group, a respected local company known for their high-quality workmanship and strong community spirit had been looking for an opportunity to carry out a ‘DIY SOS’-style project for a local individual or organisation. When Ms Taylor approached Faye Lake, Co-Founder and Customer Service Director at Highview Group, with the idea of refurbishing the Lady McAdden centre, she was keen to get involved.
Ms Lake said: “We’re proud to support Lady McAdden, a charity doing life-changing work in our community.
“Giving back is part of our values, and we hope this refurbishment helps create a space where people feel supported and safe”
The project is already underway and is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Once finished, the refreshed space will allow the team at Lady McAdden to launch their new ‘McAdden Sanctuary programme’ whilst also continuing to raise awareness & educate the community about Breast Cancer.
Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust supports everyone before, during and after breast cancer. With no government funding, it relies on donations and local support to continue its mission. To learn more about Lady McAdden and how to support the charity, visit: www.ladymcadden.org.
