A POPULAR Leigh cafe has announced exciting changes to its opening hours.
Barlow and Fields, in Elm Road, has revealed it plans to serve alcohol and stay open later at the end of the week and weekend.
Famous for their quality coffee, cakes, and snacks, owner Simon Barlow believes they can push this relaxed venue into a calm night-time hang out, offering a selection of wines, beers and quality charcuterie boards.
The late nights are set to launch in the first week of October, with opening hours extend to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 11.30pm on Thursday and Sunday.
The venture is co-run with new business partner Kylee Howes, who has masterminded the innovative new evening openings.
Simon reportedly explained: “It is a joint venture with Kylee Howes. She will be running the evenings while I hold the base, it is an expansion and we feel there is a desire out there for it and we want to build it up,” he added.
Simon is confident the café’s reputation will prove a draw for the same relaxed atmosphere: “We want to offer a similar vibe to what we have now and a small selection of wines and beers.
“It will be something different where you can come and relax and with the cost of living going up, getting something to eat and drink is so expensive.
“We are cutting no quality though. We have some nice beer and wines and cheese charcuterie boards,” he assures.
