A LOCALLY-themed book evening will be held this week at the Broadway’s Read-on-Sea.
Sophie Sleigh-Johnson, author of Code: Damp – An Esoteric Guide to British Sitcoms – will be in conversation with Tim Burrows, author of The Invention of Essex.
Both writers will discuss the importantance of the Essex landscape to their work, as well as reflecting on its connections to elements of cultural history.
Ms Sleigh-Johnson said: “Code: Damp, which has just been published on the 40th anniversary of Leonard Rossiter’s death, will make an ideal Christmas stocking filler for anyone that loves British TV and culture!
“What’s more, it discusses these themes with the Essex marshes as a backdrop.”
The evening will be held on Friday 13th December at Read-on-Sea, 28 Broadway, starting at 6 pm.
