Leigh’s Next Green?

FOLLOWING the Green Party’s historic win in Leigh earlier this year, local resident Stuart Allen has been chosen as Leigh ward’s next Green Candidate, for the 2024 City Council elections.

Well known by many in Leigh, Mr Allen is a dedicated community advocate regularly taking part in local littler picking events. He is a key volunteer on City councillor, Coun Richard Longstaff’s team, and hopes to join Coun Longstaff on the City Council next May.

Mr Allen lives and works in central Leigh, and is committed to better representing the community. He cares about supporting local businesses and residents. He said: “Leigh residents have welcomed the news with excitement and I am incredibly thrilled to have the chance to stand in next year’s elections.

“I’m working hard already, speaking to residents and working with Richard to champion Leigh. We proved this year the Green Party can win in Leigh and we look forward to the chance of winning more seats next year.”
