A LEIGH author is launching his debut book at an event in Leigh Library this January.
Andrew Hyde wrote To Muddy Death following his retirement from being a tax investigator and a trainer of tax investigators.
He explained that this latter role was perfect training for his later career as a writer, requiring him to have produced instruction manuals.
Living with his wife Lesley, Mr Hyde, when not writing is a church steward, and walk tour guide for an activity holiday company.
He also described himself as a “keen though sluggish cyclist, an avid collector of bad jokes, and since childhood a supporter Colchester United FC through thin and even thinner.”
At the event, to be held on Saturday, January 20, from 2.30 to 4 pm, Mr Hyde will discuss becoming a writer in his retirement, the inspiration behind his novel and the writing process. Signed copies of the book will be available to purchase.
