Lifeguards IN Triathlon - FIVE Volunteers from Chalkwell Lifeguards Club have all been training hard for nearly a year with constant swimming, cycling and running sessions, to be able to take part in this year’s Southend Triathlon.

FIVE Volunteers from Chalkwell Lifeguards Club have all been training hard for nearly a year with constant swimming, cycling and running sessions, to be able to take part in this year’s Southend Triathlon.

 Club members Debra Sales Tiffen, Yvonne Lewis, Val Mayes, Edward Hayden and Karen Slater, took on the challenge in an attempt to raise much needed funds to update their Club’s rescue equipment.

 Beach Lifeguard Edward Hayden said: “This year’s Southend Triathlon had a record 220 competitors.

 “This event was an unforgettable experience and beautiful memories of our first triathlon are a blessing that we will not take for granted.”
