LEIGH Lions are holding their annual Duck Race in Old Leigh on Sunday August 17th.
1400 yellow plastic ducks will be released into Leigh Creek at Bell Wharf on the incoming tide and will then float to the finishing line at Belton Bridge.
Tickets are on sale in advance for the race at Leigh Lions charity shop and at Sara’s Teagarden in Old Leigh and cost £1.
The event starts at 12.00 pm on Strand Wharf where tickets will also be available and where the Lions will be running additional stalls. The race itself is dependent on the tide, but is likely to be between 3pm and 4 pm.
The Lions will be assisted by the 3rd Chalkwell Bay Sea Scouts.
