LEIGH Lions handed over a cheque to the RNLI during a special presentation evening at Leigh’s Estuary Club.
Tony Prior, of Leigh Lions, presented a cheque for £1,320 to the Southend RNLI Lifeboat volunteers.
The donations were raised at the Old Leigh Shanty Festival, and will help RNLI volunteers continue in their efforts to save lives at sea.
The Old Leigh Shanty Festival was organised by the Lions Club of Leigh on Sea and The Hoy at Anchor Folk Club.
The presentation took place at The Estuary Club with Tony Clarke the Fundraising Chair, as well as the lifeboat press officer, in attendance.
After the presentation, the attendees enjoyed a night of shanty singing with folk club members.
