WESTCLIFF’s Premiere free music night takes to the stage this Friday, with a special Live Music Showcase.
Preview, which is held at The Function Bar at The Plough Pub in London Road brings nine acts to the stage for an evening of blues, folk, rock and acoustic favourites.
The free event gets under way at 8pm sharp and promises a packed programme featuring a mix of local talent, guest performers and a special homecoming appearance by popular musician Chris McLeod.
Opening the evening will be singer-guitarist Pete Bailey, followed by Mick Remmington, the Knowler-Schooley Duo and Simon Routh, who will perform a selection of Dylan songs, blues numbers and classic covers. Routh will also be joined by David Anton for a special blues set.
The second half of the evening features folk-rock favourites Grand Reunion, acclaimed guitarist and singer Roy Mette, and Reporting For Duty, the new band fronted by Mark Hardy, performing a mix of old and new covers.
The showcase will conclude with a welcome return for Chris McLeod, whose powerful vocals and blues-inspired repertoire have made him a popular performer on the local live music scene.
Organisers describe the event as a “superb free night out” and are encouraging music fans to arrive early to enjoy the full line-up.
The event runs from 8pm until midnight, with admission free.
