THE next meeting of Chalkwell Ward Residents Association (CWRA) will open with a talk about the city’s Local Plan.
The talk will be delivered by council planning officer Mark Sheppard.
A spokesperson for the CWRA said: “The Local Plan for Southend is currently being updated, and there will be opportunities for public input.
“All are invited come along learn more.”
Following the main talk, members will have the chance to find out more about the new waste collection service which is due to come into operation in the autumn, with a short presentation by Suez, the city’s new waste service provider, on the practicalities of the changed service which begin in the autumn.
Following a short refreshment break, the meeting will conclude with discussion of ward issues, in which members are updated on matters affecting the ward, and generally have the chance to raise matters of local concern and question ward councillors, who regularly report back on ward- related matters.

Entry is free to members.
