Major National Achievement

A LEIGH theatre group is celebrating a major national achievement after being crowned “dance school of the year”.
Expressions Theatre Arts secured the prestigious title at the National Entertainment Awards held at the O2 in London on Sunday, June 15.
The award recognises the exceptional standard of training, performance and dedication shown by the school, students and teaching team.
The school, led by Principals Emma Felton and Rebecca Hood, headed to London to compete against nationwide performers with their result marking one of the biggest honours in the competition.
They said: “We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly honoured to announce that we have been awarded The National Dance School of the Year at the National Entertainment Awards held at the O2 in London.”
Expressions Theatre Arts has built a strong reputation across the county, offering development for young performers across a range of disciplines.
Staff said that the success reflects the dedication and commitment of both students and staff within the school community.
Emma and Rebecca added: “To receive such an award is a truly monumental achievement and a testament to the passion, dedication and talent within our entire dance family.
“Congratulations Team! We did it!”
Next on the horizon is the Dance World Cup, with the school heading off to represent team England over the summer across ballet tap and show-stopper categories.
The school added: “One thing is certain: Expressions Theatre Arts is putting Leigh firmly on the map.”
