A LEIGH charity dedicated to offering support to those affected by breast cancer has just opened a new therapeutic space.
The McAdden Trust Sanctuary has been created in response to conversations with those diagnosed with breast cancer, both during treatment and after, and provides a nurturing space offering Pilates, meditation, oncology massage, reflexology, counselling and more.
“It’s a space to feel safe, supported and heard, which has the power to bring a sense of calm during what can be a challenging time and experience for those affected by breast cancer”, says newly-appointed Fundraising Director, Tanya King.
The Sanctuary, located at the charity’s headquarters at 204 Elmsleigh Drive, offers people diagnosed with breast cancer an accessible way to book classes and services with a sliding scale payment system.
The individual can choose between £3-£10 for a group class and £10-£50 for a one-to-one appointment for a holistic service such as oncology massage or reflexology.
All information services are £3 to cover the cost of tea and cake, but throughout September, The Sanctuary will be offering a 50% discount on group classes and services (excluding counselling, NLP and group information services).

To celebrate the opening of the Sanctuary, a fun launch event will also be held on October 4th, featuring an evening of entertainment and food at the Lounge Jazz Club in Southend.
The evening starts with a glass of fizz, followed by a delicious 2-course meal, and entertainment from ‘The Trio Singers’, all in support of Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust.
