A LEADING homelessness charity hosted the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
HARP welcomed Felicity Buchan MP, alongside by MP Sir James Duddridge KCMG, to the new Bluebird accommodation, with a BBQ lunch and a tour.
The 56-room accommodation in the heart of Southend, is comprised of three renovated properties, alongside a terrace of six brand new houses, built to environmentally friendly Passivhaus standards.
Ms Buchan said: “HARP is doing amazing things with Bluebird, and it was a privilege to visit the site on Good Friday.
“The project sets an excellent standard for Supported Housing, and this shows in how happy the residents are to live there.”
HARP’s Bluebird Appeal is ongoing, with the charity aiming to raise £175k in public donations to support the project.
