LEIGH-based breast cancer charity is shining a light on prevention and care with a new charity exhibition.
Lady McAdden’s community exhibition ‘Palette to Prevention’ at The People’s Gallery in The Forum, Southend launched on July 2 with many visitors enjoying refreshments and viewing the wide array of artwork.
The event, lasting the whole month of July, is raising awareness of breast cancer and the work of the charity, as well as funds to support services through a showcase of 30 local artists.
These makers have worked in a variety of mediums to bring a diverse show exploring the different themes surrounding breast cancer, and each has generously donated at least one artwork to Lady McAdden with all proceeds going directly to support the charity.
Visitors will also encouraged to leave a note on their “Messages of Hope” display to provide positive thoughts for those who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, with the opportunity to leave a donation through a secure pay point.
Inspiring the community trough activity and creativity, a series of interactive workshops are also being held throughout July, including but not limited to beginners acrylic painting with Julie Ford; dealing with anxiety through art with Irene Malvezi; introduction to poetry with Maddi Crease; embroidery for beginners; natural light portrait photography with Nicola Parry and Colin Watkins and kids and teens foil print cushion workshop with Charlotte Robinson from Minus Cloud Nine.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Your participation in our exhibition will help us to raise funds to support our services and also awareness to help educate everyone on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and how to self-check.
“You can get involved by attending the exhibition, spreading the word, making a donation or purchasing a piece of exhibition merchandise.
“We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at Palette to Prevention throughout July.”
Bidding on their online auction will be open from the 1st – 31st July at: galabid.com/ladymcadden.
