Married couple Joanne and Mark Potton are behind the Fresco in the Chase Rayleigh, which opened in 2021.

Now, they are getting ready to welcome diners to Anglo in Eastwood Road.

The pair have always dreamed of opening a restaurant, and are planning a modern British menu for their latest venture.

They explained: “We are progressing well with our new restaurant in Rayleigh.

“We have chosen the name Anglo and the dining style will be Modern British. Our food will be well-created, using things like seasonally sourced produce from the UK. We will be offering brunch, dinner and also Sunday Roasts.”

Responses online to the news of the restaurant have been positive, with one poster saying: “What brilliant news.

Mrs Potton explained the move to Eastwood Road: “We have been looking to buy another place off the back of the success of Fresco, and we wanted somewhere near the High Street.

“We looked at a lot of places, but this place is perfect. We have had to do a lot of work, but the space is excellent and very open. We can also offer cocktails and wines there, with this space.

“We hope it will add a lot, as Rayleigh has a great eating-out nightlife that we are adding another option to.”
