The free event ‘The Reading Round’ funded by the Royal Literary Fund, will be celebrating author Shanta Everington’s new book Another Mother: Curating and creating voices of adoption, surrogacy and egg donation, out with Routledge on June 8.

Ms Everington said: “The Reading Round is like a book club without the homework.”

Join local author Ms Everington to discover the joy of short stories, poems and creative non-fiction, read aloud to you, with copies to take home.

She added: “All you need to do is turn up, listen and join in the discussion with other members when you’re ready.”

Another Mother is inspired by her experiences as a biological and adoptive mother, and written for a PhD in Creative Writing with The Open University.

The Reading Round Club will run at Leigh Community Centre every Tuesday 1:15-2:45pm from September 12.
