SOS Club returns to Leigh

A POPULAR club returns to Leigh Community Centre for the first time in 2023.

The SOS Club returns to Leigh Community Centre, with a double bill to get things going.

First up is Leigh’s finest soul band STUD 100 And The Beautiful People, who will be bringing their wonderful blend of urban motown, stax and northern soul to the centre, complete with a force of nature four piece brass section.

Following them, a real treat – the first performance of Under Pressure.

Spokesperson and musician John B said: “A few years ago, for a charity concert called the ‘The Last Resort’ a bunch of talented local musicians from successful tribute bands performed Queen’s ‘Live Aid’ set to 500 people at the Mill Hall in Rayleigh. It was the highlight of an amazing event and put the seed of an idea into the heads of those musicians.
“Now, from the ashes of that performance comes ‘Under Pressure’ a tribute to the music of Queen, presenting a journey through the years of the biggest and best hits from this iconic band’s catalogue, with the finale being a faithful reproduction of the Live Aid set, complete with audience participation ‘Ay-ops’.”

Tickets for this extravaganza are only £5 (children free).

“Bar opens at 1pm and you’ll be home for tea!” adds John.
