Pedestrian Injured

A PEDESTRIAN was hospitalised with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Westcliff.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a Black Golf and a pedestrian in London Road, Westcliff, at the junction with Hamlet Court Road.

The incident occurred at around 6:35am on Thursday, October 26.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30s, remains in hospital after she sustained serious injuries.

Essex Police confirmed that the driver of the black Golf stopped at the scene of the crime and is aiding the force with their enquires.

Police are also urging any witnesses to come forward with information to help them in their investigation.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam following a serious collision in Westcliff.

“At around 6.35am on Thursday, October 26, a black Golf and a pedestrian were in collision in London Road, at the junction with Hamlet Court Road.

“The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30s, remains in hospital after she sustained serious injuries. We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time to check their dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that could help our investigation.

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

“Please quote incident 162 of 26 October when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
