A POP-UP charity shop set up in Rochford is raising money for two “fantastic” causes.
The venture, opened in a vacant former café at the Mill Arts and Events Centre Bellingham Lane, Rochford, is open daily from 9.30am.
The shop is raising funds for Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust and Supporting Carers and Families Together (SCAFT).
Coun Julie Gooding, in charge of leisure, said: “We are desperately hoping to get the café reopened to the public. In the meantime, councillors agree it would be great to use the vacant room for charity purposes.”
All councillors are taking turns to man the shop.
She added: “It’s a fantastic cause. I’ve had some great conversations with people whose lives have been saved by Lady McAdden.
“I’ve got the greatest respect for them and SCAFT’s young carers.”
