A NEW Leigh Pop-Up business located in a shipping container is proving a smash hit with locals.
Nugs, which serves fried chicken nuggets with a range of sauces, is now looking to find a location after only three weeks of trading.
Long queues at the container in Progress Road have testified to the businesses’ popularity, with proprietors Reis Esiroglu and wife Charlie Fairbrother hoping to realise their dream of founding a fast-food business.
Mr Esiroglu said of the custom: “It has been like a festival in terms of the business, which has been tough as every time we get to grips with the amount of attention one week, we are forced to deal with more dilemmas as a result of so many people the next week.
“Last week was the busiest week we have ever had as a business and we still haven’t had any bad reviews. You’d expect that at this point but we are genuinely shocked.”
Nugs also make fried chicken for people with coeliac disease and other gluten intolerances, which has proved very popular, as Mr Esiroglu explained: “it has almost brought people to tears that they can simply enjoy a takeaway with no side effects.
“That is the thing we just love to see.”
The queues have been absolutely crazy, and we cannot thank the people of Leigh and Eastwood enough,” he added.
