Postal Service Consultation

THE MP for Southend West and Leigh continued his fight for a better postal service from Royal Mail at a meeting with the Business Minister.
David Burton-Sampson and Blair McDougall got around the table together to discuss the ongoing issues with the postal service in Southend.
The MP has continued to hear complaints about late or non- existent deliveries from Royal Mail, despite patchy improvements.
The Business Minister agreed that a fresh consultation should be held in Southend to see exactly how people are finding the service, with the results being fed back to Ofcom.
The Minister will also be updated about the findings.
Mr Burton-Sampson said: “This was a really positive meeting. The Minister was very interested to hear about the shortcomings in deliveries here and the performance of Royal Mail.
“He said other areas of the UK were experiencing similar problems and he has been working closely with Royal Mail to challenge their performance and delivery.
“We will be posting our survey on the Royal Mail’s performance in Southend very soon and I urge you to respond with your experiences, so that I can help improve deliveries for everyone.”
