MP Mark Francois has reacted with dismay, to the news that the long-awaited Public Inquiry into proposed development at Mount Bovers Lane has been adjourned to the end of the month – having only just begun.
Rayleigh & Wickford MP, Mr Francois, who was due to give detailed evidence against the application, was reacting to news that the inquiry has now been adjourned, until 29 September, on an apparent technicality.
Commenting on the unexpected delay, Mr Francois said: “I have just spent the last two days, with my Parliamentary staff, finalising my detailed speech, in objection to the application, which I was due to deliver to the inquiry on Thursday morning.
“I am thus dismayed that this long-awaited inquiry, into this highly controversial application, has now been delayed and may yet be put back even further – especially since it had barely even begun.”
