RAYLEIGH Lions held their annual charity fundraising quiz night at the Hullbridge Community Association on Friday 20 March 2026 and raised £900 for local charities.
18 teams took part in a hard fought and lively contest. Blind Venison came first (again) and won £300, which they donated to Southend Foodbank. Runners up Action for Family Carers nominated themselves to receive their £200 prize. Pointless Chasers came third, and their £100 will go towards Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust. See attached picture of Blind Venison receiving the Rayleigh Lions Quiz Trophy from Lions President David Bodimeade.
Since starting in 1974, Rayleigh Lions has raised and donated over £1 million to good causes in the Rayleigh, Hockley, Hullbridge and Rochford areas.
Rayleigh Lions are always looking for new members. If you are interested please email [email protected] or message their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/rayleighlions/)
A Rayleigh Lions spokesperson said: “Thanks to all who supported our quiz night. Everyone had a great night. Well done to the top three teams, who donated to great causes.”
