CHRISTMAS has arrived early at Rayleigh Library, thanks to the kind-hearted Rainbows who are actively participating in fundraising for numerous charities.
For the first time since the onset of the Covid pandemic, Rayleigh Library is once again offering the much-loved Cards for Good Causes, with the proceeds benefiting around 70 different charities.
Three young members of the 6th Castle Mount West Rainbows, who regularly gather at Rayleigh’s Salvation Army Hall, are lending their support to sell these heart-warming Christmas cards as part of their commitment to community service.
Sisters Elizabeth Boselli, aged seven, Sophia, aged six, and their friend Clover Brown, aged five, are frequent library visitors and are overjoyed to contribute to essential causes such as the RNLI, Marie Curie, Shelter, Mind, and Carers UK.
Abigail Boselli, the mother of Elizabeth and Sophia, expresses their enthusiasm for the project, saying: “We were thrilled to be asked to participate in this endeavour, as we hold the library dear to our hearts and visit it every week.
“Being able to make a positive impact in our community is very important to us. The Christmas cards are not only beautiful, but also carry the spirit of positive change. The only challenge we face is deciding which ones to choose.”
The cards are available for £4.99 per pack and will be on sale at Rayleigh Library right up until Christmas.
With a wide variety of designs to choose from, along with gift wrapping, labels, ribbons, and even advent calendars and candles to add to the festive cheer, there is something for everyone.
