Rayleigh Scooter Cavalcade

SCOOTER boys and scooter girls rode into Rayleigh this month.

They were helping publicise a concert at Mill Hall featuring two groups performing Ska, Two-tone, Reggae and Soul music. A performance by top of the bill, seasoned professionals ‘The Upbeats’, had everyone up and dancing.

One audience member said: “From the moment they came onstage to their last encore it was pure joy. Watch out for ‘The Upbeats’ if they come back to the Mill in the future, it’s well worth clearing the diary to see them.”

The Upbeats were supported on the bill by local group the Calmers.

The Mill Arts & Events Centre (Mill Hall) will be hosting many shows in coming weeks. Events as diverse as Prodigy tribute act ‘Jilted Generation’ on Friday 4th April and the ‘Rayleigh Horticultural Show’ on Sunday 6th April. A Bob Marley reggae tribute band ‘One Love’ will perform on 12th April and a few days later Wrestling will take place on 18th April.

A spokesperson said: “Many of the popular events are selling out, so it is best to book early.
