Rayleigh Train Fine

A MAN caught at Rayleigh station without a £16.80 train ticket has been fined more than £200.

Scott Shields, of Purneys Road, Eltham, was at the greater Anglia station on May 7, 2023 when he was found without a ticket for his journey.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on December 21.

The 47-year-old has been fined £220, ordered to pay compensation of £16.80, and must also pay surcharge to fund victim services of £88, and costs of £125.
