 Held recently at the Mill Arts & Events Centre in Rayleigh the show evidenced a variety of entries, drawing in a bustling crowd of visitors eager to admire the exhibits.

Mike Jollands emerged as the recipient of the Town Show cup for the finest entry across all horticultural classes, with his daffodil variety ‘Loth Lorien.’

Meanwhile, Anna Stavrinides, a young member, clinched the top spot in the new competitor class with a flawless tulip.

Other notable winners included Sheena Booth, who secured the title for the best handicraft entry with a framed example of applique.

Barbara Oliver triumphed in the floral arrangement class, while Jean Scarisbrick received recognition for the best house plant entry.

In the cookery section Janet Winslow’s Swiss roll was judged the best entry. Pat Hill of the society said: “There were some lovely entries and we had a really busy afternoon with lots of visitors to admire the exhibits.”
