POLICE have launched an appeal for information after recovering a motorbike which was stolen from Leigh in April.

  Essex police recovered the motorcycle close to Benderlock on Canvey Island, and are appealing for information to find the thief.

 The motorcycle was recovered on May 6, but on Friday May 9 was identified and confirmed as having been stolen on April 19.

 A police spokesperson said: “The motorcycle has now been identified and confirmed as being stolen from Leigh on 19 April.

 Police are looking for information or asking anyone who might have seen the motorcycle being ridden since the day it was stolen to contact them.

 They added: “If you have seen this motorcycle being ridden between the date it was stolen and 7 May, please contact us on 101 or online, quoting investigation 42/52654/25.

 “You can also go online at essex.police.uk or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or go to their website at crimestoppers-uk.org.”
