Rectory Grove Arrests – A POLICE statement was issued after 3 people were arrested in Rectory Grove, Leigh.
A POLICE statement was issued after 3 people were arrested in Rectory Grove, Leigh.
It said: “We were called to reports of three suspects approaching a car and assaulting a person in the vehicle in Rectory Grove on Sunday 18 May 2025.
“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries to their leg sustained in the incident.
“We opened an investigation to identify the suspects and, on Monday 19 May, the suspects were reportedly threatening and abusing a second victim in the same street, in an incident unconnected to the assault.
“Officers attended and arrested three people: A 14-year-old boy on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, a public order offence and possession of a Class B drug.
“A 15-year-old boy on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, a public order offence and possession of a Class B drug.
“An 18-year-old man from Eye in Suffolk on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, a public order offence and possession of a Class B drug.”
Detective Inspector Steve Franklin added: “This incident serves as an example of how seriously we take violent crime in our district.
“If you commit these offences, you will be arrested.
“My officers have worked hard following several lines of enquiry which had helped secure these arrests.
“Violent offences are falling year-on-year, and we’re working hard to bring them down even further.”
