Rescued Fox Update

WILDLIFE rescuers who saved a fox tangled in wire have issued an update on the creature’s treatment.
In late October, South Essex Wildlife Hospital staff were called to Leigh after a homeowner spotted the fox tangled in garden football netting.
Since then, workers at the hospital have been fighting to get the fox back on the mend, but have been alarmed by the extent of the fox’s injuries.
A spokesperson said: “Constriction injuries are well known to get worse before they start to recover and this is exactly what were afraid of with this little fox.
“In just a few days, a tiny indentation has started to break down, causing huge amount of bruising and inflammation around his groin, waist and genitals.
Although we have already started a treatment plan, this is where the real work begins. We have a lot of work left to get this little boy back on his feet, but we will do all we can.
“Please remember, if you find a tangled animal do not release it without making sure it’s checked first!
