A SOUTH Essex MP recently met with a Housing Association Chief to discuss problems of anti-social behaviour in their properties.

Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, held the discussion with Paul Edwards, the Chief Executive of Chelmer Housing Partnership (CHP), which manages social housing at several locations in his constituency, including on the new Wolsey Park development in Rawreth, on the edge of Rayleigh.

During their discussion, at CHP’s headquarters in Chelmsford, Mr Francois discussed several instances of anti-social behaviour emanating from CHP properties on the new estate, which Mr Edwards promised to follow up and tackle.

Commenting on the meeting, Mr Francois said: “It was good to meet with Paul Edwards and to receive his assurance that behaviour like this will be dealt with.

“We don’t want just a handful of rogue tenants spoiling things for everybody else and I was therefore pleased to hear that CHP are ready to take action against anyone who materially breaches their tenancy agreement.”
