LEIGH and Thorpe Bay Rotary Club hosted some free lifesaving sessions, including instruction on CPR and defibrillator use.
The Carli Lansley Foundation, which provides free ECG screenings within the Southend area to young people, hosted the event in conjunction with Pronto Training and the two Rotary Clubs.
The Carli Lansley Foundation, whose motto is “keeping young hearts healthy,” was started by Karl Lansley and his children Jess and Ethan, in memory of Carli Lansley, their beloved wife and mother, who died aged 36 in her sleep from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.
Mr Lansley commented: “our charity – in conjunction with Pronto Training and the two local rotary clubs of Rotary Leigh and Thorpe Bay Rotary Club – were delighted to host another training session, teaching local residents the vital skills of how to perform CPR (on adults, children and babies) and how to use a defibrillator correctly and safely
“We’d like to thank Jamie at SAVS for arranging this event. We already have 3 more confirmed dates in the diary (with many more to be added soon).”
Upcoming session include 3 November 2025 at Fitzwimarc School, and 15 April and 30 September in 2026, both at Saxon Hall. All sessions start at 7pm and last just over 2 hours.
